ABOUT CASA CALMA
In the far north of Tuscany, in Lunigiana, you will find our historic stone house, Casa Calma. We have lovingly restored the 700-year-old house with great attention to detail. In the medieval hilltop village of Mulazzo, you can enjoy peace, spectacular views over the Magra Valley, and the Apuan Alps.

A charming little mountain village with winding alleys, ancient stone houses, and breathtaking views of the Apuan Alps. Here stands Casa Calma – our lovingly restored stone house, which we are happy to share with friends and family.
Lunigiana – A Different Side of Tuscany
Lunigiana is one of Italy’s last hidden gems. Once traveled by pilgrims on the Via Francigena, today it is home to majestic mountain ranges, lush river valleys, and castles from times long past. You’ll find beautiful hiking trails, small trattorias serving homemade pasta, and honest, simple cuisine – from Testaroli with pesto to traditional chestnut bread.
Mulazzo – A Village with History
Mulazzo is one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. It was once home to the noble Malaspina family, and even Dante wandered through its streets for a time. Today, the village enchants visitors with its relaxed atmosphere, ancient watchtowers, and hidden corners that invite you to linger.
Mountains or sea? Both!
Mulazzo is perfectly located between the Apennine Mountains and the beaches of Liguria. A short drive takes you to Lerici or Fiascherino for a swim, or you can explore the spectacular Cinque Terre. To the south, the sandy beaches of Tuscany await, framed by the white marble mountains of Carrara.
